Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to ask for help, follow their requests and chat with us. We are working toward meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we have done
- A skip link lets keyboard users jump past the menu to the main content.
- Every button, link and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard, and a clear outline shows where you are.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are announced to screen readers.
- Text and buttons are designed to meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 on the standard colors.
- Animation is reduced or stopped for people whose device asks for less motion.
- The live chat window announces new messages and when a team member joins, and works with a keyboard. Escape minimizes it.
- Pages work on phones, tablets and desktops, and the text can be enlarged without losing content.
Where we are still working
- Some staff screens let you drag and drop items. Each of these also has a button, menu or form that does the same thing without dragging, but a few are still being checked.
- Colors chosen by an administrator in Settings are not automatically checked for contrast.
- Screen sharing in a chat or ticket is visual only and has no audio description.
- The Features page includes animated demonstrations. They can be paused, and they stop moving automatically if reduced motion is on.
This is a work in progress, and we have not yet had an outside audit. We will update this page as we improve.
Tell us about a problem
If something is hard to use, please let us know. Submit a ticket and mention accessibility, or start a chat from the button at the bottom of the page. We will reply with a way to do what you need and fix the problem.
